The group gets started to enrich the garden bed to plant the redbud tree as part of our Earth Day activities.  M’s dad helps the children as they work.

Our main project for Earth Day activities is to work on the garden outside of our classroom. We are planting a tree for birds so we can watch them from our window. R has filled his bucket with good soil and H has emptied the wheelbarrow after filling it with rich dirt.

We’re planting an Eastern redbud tree which will have pink flowers in spring and heart-shaped green leaves when the flowers disappear.  We hope birds will perch on it so we can see them from our window.
